Busy busy busy

Wow, what a crazy few months we've had, so little time so much to do! We just got an e-mail from our Wordpress server asking whether we had fallen out with it, as it hadn't heard from us for so long.

After giving its logs a good clean up and treating it to some more storage space, we think the server has forgiven us, but it has reminded that we haven't blogged for a while...

What we've been up to...

We've been working on some big projects, including :

Creation of a mobile Magento site and addition of some rather fiddly delivery rules for a company who specialises in turned wood products for the building industry

Complete re-skinning of a very popular Magento-based clothing store

Some exceedingly intricate IP-based redirection and store switching for an online glasses retailer

All the other jobs we've been doing for all our lovely regular customers (you know who you are!)

It's not all Magento around here

We have started to get involved with our local higher education centre, Selby College.

We were looking for some more skilled developers to join our team and with an Ofsted Outstanding college on our doorstep, we figured, what better place to go head hunting. We had our first work experience student in March and were really impressed with his skills and work ethic. We've also been involved judging the college's annual skills tournament, as well as reviewing the work done by the students over their year and giving them a few pointers on the design and technical side of things.

We're now working on a joint project with the college, utilising their facilities and our IT knowledge to deliver Cyber-Security courses at the college, not aimed at IT Professionals, but at anyone who uses a computer in a business. Working in E-Commerce has put us in the firing line of cyber crime for many years and with my background being in technical IT training, we've put together a really great course for anyone who fears that their users may be the weakest link.
